UPDATE - Scroll to bottom for the insurance quote in a "good" scenario. Fuck michigan no-fault rates. You *HAVE* to go on your parents insurance as a college student for anything that isn't a 1997 monte carlo ls......that cost me pennies for PLPD but then again, the car needed to die. Anyways, back to the original post.

Look.......we love you and all.......but this life crisis wouldn't have happened !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

And realize something - You picked the focus because it was what you wanted out of what was out there at the moment. Heck, you even managed to not smash it within the first week of ownership like I predicted. The mustang you lust for wasn't even a choice when you made that decision. So take care of the focus, save your money, and then TRADE IT IN in a few years's time. You might not even have to leave college to do it. I don't know how soon the focus will be paid off. But lets say in 3 years' time your focus is worth 15k on trade in.......then you only have 15k needed to finance and you might have a similar monthyl payment. Bonus - you'll be older, so insurance will be cheaper.

Oh yeah, there's the wet blanket on your fire for now - insurance on that mustang? When you're 18?.........I want to laugh manically but get a few quotes by saying you're a teenager who wants a 5.0L mustang GT and it will be parked outdoors in Detroit.........You won't like the number. Trust me.

Now for the Porsche tax - don't idolize the 944. Wrong front engined model. Your idol should be the 924 GTP. It is so awesome it had BOSS written all over it.

Kinja'd!!!

SO. BOSS.

EDIT: HOLY SHITSNACKS! I GOT A QUOTE THROUGH PROGRESSIVE - NO ACCIDENTS, LICENSED FOR 3 YEARS, BORN IN 1993, VEHICLE PARKED AT LAWRENCE TECH, FULL TIME STUDENT.

Kinja'd!!!

OVER 8000$ PER YEAR!!!!!! JUST FOR INSURANCE!!!!!!

The insurance for an 18 year old with a Mustang GT has to be astronomically high.

I pay $700/year for my Outback and it's the slowest car I've ever driven haha

We'll put this down as "please K-Roll - wait just a bit. Because wallet raep.".

I'm 28 and paying $80 a month for two cars, both of which are older than K-Roll, which is why. $8k a year = that shit cray.

'08 pt cruiser, base model. Through Geico I pay $192 a month. Not sure how good that is, but it is a vast improvement since I'm older than 26 now.

Not the best, but then again if you have even a single ticket or at-fault you get hosed. If your driving record is perfect, you're overpaying, I would think, but even if you have say one ticket and one at-fault accident? Yeah I can definitely see that.

It's the way she goes buddy. Financial advice you don't want to hear:

Drive the Focus and enjoy it for a few years & make sure to keep your record clean. Once you hit 25 go buy the mustang. 25 is the magic number when it comes to insurance. If you record is clean it should be like $1400/yr for the stang.

Ha, forgot to account for my tickets. I have two, one in MI & one in FL. Both were 10 over the speed limit (at least that's what it says on it).

I pay about 1500/yr for my FiST but I'm also still renting an apartment and I owe money on it. So I imagine the mustang would be a bit more still. But yes, K-roll can achieve his dreams. He just needs to be patient......but at the same time, he can't lose his spirit when he's all like

I'm 29 now but I was 25 when I bought my Challenger SRT8 brand new and it as $1200/yr full coverage. To put this into perspective when I was K-rolls age I was paying $3000/yr for PLPD only. so yeah he just has to hang in there in he can achieve his dream.

I'm old enough to remember parappa the rapper. The PS1 never disappoints.

Progressive quotes out every 6 months. So 4119.50 total is for 6 months. A year would be 8240$

Said no one over the age of 30 :P

But seriously, I think I told you before - the best years of your life are those riiiiiight after college. Actual, honest, freedom. Also money. And women. And your own place. And your own place for your own cars. And so many places to go and things to eat and drink. And so much driving of all the roads.

Being old is much much worse. When I was your age I wanted nothing more than to be older, now that I'm almost 40, I'd give anything to be your age again.

But you can have anything you want when you're older, do whatever you want, and not be judged for it. What good is it being young and unable to enjoy it if you can't have the things you want to make you happy? I don't see it.

Actually none of those things are guaranteed. After college you could easily be broke, womanless (because you are broke) and living at home.

Because you can't. The real world doesn't work that way. I believe that you may be a lot like me. Nothing has ever been good enough and I've always wanted more than I have. It took growing older for me to learn to appreciate what I do have and realize that I don't have to have everything I want to be happy. Enjoy your youth, trust me when I tell you that you will miss it greatly when it's gone.
